Service Description

DEC has over 35 substance use disorders (SUD) providers at 34 locations that provide an array of services. Our continuum of care consists of prevention, treatment and recovery services. Our prevention programs address the reduction in childhood and underage drinking, reducing prescription and over the counter drug abuse/misuse, reducing youth access to tobacco, and reducing illicit drug use. Our traditional plans consist of: Outpatient, Intensive Outpatient, Detox, Short and Long Term Residential, as well as innovative modes of treatment such as Early Intervention. Primary Integrated Health & Wellness Screening: Our SBIRT is a comprehensive, integrated, public health approach to the delivery of early intervention for individuals with risky alcohol and drug use, as well as the timely referral to more intensive substance abuse treatment for those who have substance use disorders. Enjoy Our Brief Interventions “Recovery Is Yours” SBIRT Concert Event- Through our partnerships with local recovery support organizations, we invite (1) DWIHN clients and (2) hundreds of Wayne County residents at large, to come together and enjoy: *A Private Screening- DEC SBIRT Assessment and Resource Information Center immediately addresses: *Environmental Wellness. We Change the Client’s Immediate Environment and Transition the Client from the previous mental state of destitution and hopelessness to one of inspiration and hope. *The Client receives Healthy Social Choices, *Healthy Gourmet Meals, *Healthy Environment & Entertainment *Social Wellness You will enjoy a: *90-minute SBIRT Concert Event featuring live & relaxing jazz bands, Comedy for Recovery, and Edutainment (Education through Entertainment) *While enjoying non-alcoholic organic shakes, fruit smoothies and tea stations (safe and sober/social wellness/healthy living). *You'll receive full Documented holistic health education and information for each of the fruits, vegetables, and teas provided, and their health and positive benefits and effects on the body as opposed to self-medicating. (Health and wellness education) *Healthy food choices Only (vegan options available). *You are Provided Resource Information and Referrals. We use the intermission/breaks to “promote” the catalogue of resources immediately available to you in your community. Along with the screening and assessment, we document any and all Immediate concerns, set appointments for follow up and Reveal Recovery Resources and Referrals Immediately.
